Deborah Buckner

March 26, 1925 - Nov. 11, 1996

Deborah Lorena Jackson Buckner was born March 25, 1925 in Pilot Point, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Ollie Major and Susie Simpson Jackson.

She received her formal education in the Denison Public School system attending Anderson, Terrell High School (class of 42) and Grayson County College.

She was united in holy matrimony with Lagusta Buckner on February 28, 1944 in Durant, Oklahoma.

Deborah was an active member of the community and a long time member and Worthy Matron of the Social Chapter 182, Order of Eastern Star Lodge. She was a lifetime member of the Anderson Terrell School Reunion Committee, and a longtime member of Hopewell Baptist Church, having served on the Usher Board. She will sorely be missed.

Deborah made the transition to eternal life on Monday, November 11, 1996. She leaves to mourn, her beloved husband, Lagusta Buckner of Denison; three brothers: Richard Jackson of Everett, Massachusetts, Franklin Jackson of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Edward Jackson of Denison, Texas; four daughters and two son-in-laws: Learline and Arthur Beaty of Coltsneck, New Jersey, Melva and Edgar Best of Dallas, Texas, Anita Freeman of San Antonio, Texas, Rachel Buckner of Norcross, Georgia; two sons and daughters-in-laws: Ollie and Daisy Buckner of Marietta, Georgia, Albert and Sharolyn Buckner of Yukon, Oklahoma; 10 grand-children, one great grandchild, and a host of other relatives and friends.

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
