Ronald Gene Griffith
Ronald Gene Griffith, affectionately known as “Ronnie” was born to Timothy and Vivian Griffith on May 30, 1947 in Denison, Texas. He was the second oldest of seven children. After a lengthy illness, Ronnie departed this life on December 24, 2006 in Desoto, Texas.
Ronnie attended Terrell Elementary and Terrell High School in Denison, graduating in 1965. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country from 1965 through 1969, traveling the world extensively. His love for cooking led him into a career as a head chef at Wyatt’s cafeterias for a number of years. He would often share his gift of cooking with family and friends. Ronnie also enjoyed hunting and fishing. His outgoing personality and sense of humor made him a joy for others to be in his company. A kind, generous and loving man, he often helped others in need, even with his limited resources.
Ronnie leaves to cherish his memories his parents, Timothy and Vivian Griffith of Denison, Texas; four sisters, two brothers, Joyce Young of Savannah, Tennessee, Michael Griffith (Loretta) of Red Oak, Texas; Hugh Griffith (Machelle) of Mesquite, Texas; Agnes Douglas (Doug) of Desoto, Texas; Sandra Jones of Dallas, Texas; Winifred Jones (Greg) of Midlothian, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, 9 a.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home, 6449 Houston School Rd., Dallas, Tx.
Interment at DFW National Cemetery.
