DENISON - Dorothy (Ms. Dot) Jones Bradley, 79, of Denison died at her home on Oct. 1, 2009.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1930 in Denison to Frank and Ethel Jones.
She was the seventh of eight children. Dorothy was a drum major for the
marching band and a graduate of Terrell High School in Denison. She was
also an active participant in every Terrell High School Reunion. She
enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, sewing, garage sales
and writing poetry. Dorothy is survived by her children, Nancy Carley of Allen,
Sandra Gabriel of Sherman, Donna Pettigrew Ebow (Michael) of Garland,
and Rebecca Pettigrew Estelle of Allen. Surviving siblings are Marie
Roberts of Ft. Worth, Thelma Milam of Richmond, Calif. and Florence
(Ernest) Fridia of Richmond, Calif.; grandchildren, Talesha Moore,
Kenya Pettigrew, Teila (Calvashawn) Darthard, Tambra (Patrick)
Reynolds, Marcus Pettigrew, Terren Pettigrew, Trevan Gabriel, and
Ayanna Estelle. She also leaves 10 great-grandchildren and a host of
nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by son Leon Pettigrew, and siblings, Charles, Wendell, Erma Jean, and Ruby Jewell Jones.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009 at Mt.
Olive Baptist Church, Denison. Rev. S.D. Breaux will officiate. The
family hour be held from 6 -8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009 at
Angelic Mortuary, Sherman. |
